The ReCrearte Program, an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), continues offering workshops during the month of October at the Beth Hashem House of God Ministry in Santo Domingo
, with the aim of training recycling advocates and entrepreneurs among community parishioners.
On October 8th and 15th, a total of 20 adult and teenage women, both church members and guests from the community, listened and enthusiastically participated in every step of the workshop.
On this occasion, the program Coordinator, Bertha Santana, selected the subject of working with discarded clothes and plastic covers to create flowers of various sizes and colors to be worn as personal decoration or on clothing. On Wednesday, October 22nd, the Beth Hashem House of God Ministry will host the last of this series of workshops in October.
ReCrearte conducts weekly creative recycling workshops in communities across the country. Under the expert eye of artist Bertha Santana, the program aims to foster a new generation of artists who can serve as multipliers and waste management leaders in their own communities.
